Forsyth County's Family Justice Center, is a public-private partnership that will be housed in and operated by Forsyth County Government. Many local nonprofit and public agencies will work together to provide services to those impacted by interpersonal violence. Forsyth County's Family Justice Center is expected to open in early 2021.
The purpose of a Family Justice Center is to wrap services and support around those impacted by interpersonal violence – to offer safety, hope, healing, strength and belonging. There are over 100 Family Justice Centers in the United States.
Forsyth County currently has Safe on Seven, a domestic violence center with co-located services and support for domestic violence survivors provided by many partner agencies.
A Family Justice Center goes well beyond co-location of services. In the Family Justice Center model, each partner agency re-aligns how it collaborates with the other partners to support victims and survivors. Many services are provided in one safe location.
