Central Library

Alliance Book Club will read and discuss books by and/or about members of the LGBTQIA+ community. This is a system-wide book club that is open to everyone. The book club will meet on the fourth Saturday of each month at 11:00am. We'll be meeting virtually using Zoom. You will be emailed a link and password to attend the Zoom meeting after you register. If you do not have a webcam or microphone, you may still attend.

Carver Library
Senergy Book Club meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the meeting room. We read African American fiction and nonfiction; mysteries, crime, and biography genres as well. We attend plays, movies, collect school supplies and canned goods. Join us for an exciting discussion, snacks, and fellowship. For more information, call 703-2910.

Book Lovers’ Club meets on the first Monday of every month at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Call 703-2920 for more information. (Variety of titles including some nonfiction -- titles selected six months to a year in advance. Members take turns facilitating.)
cooking Clemmons Cookin' Club meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 12:30 pm. Call 703-2920 for more information. (Members choose a recipe from a preselected book, make the recipe and brint it in for tasting. Come in by Monday before our Wednesday meeting to make a recipe selection.)

African American Book Club
Join us for an adult book club where members can read books by and about African Americans on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can participate in-person or virtually during this book club. Brown Bag Book Club meets the last Monday of each month at noon. Bring your lunch and join the Brown Bag Book Club as we discuss the month’s pick. We read both fiction and nonfiction, so if you are looking for a club with lots of variety, you have come to the right place! The Friends of the Rural Hall Library Book Club meets every first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Members read a variety of different genres and authors that are sure to interest everyone. The members enjoy a good time during their meetings and have great discussions surrounding that month's selection. Southside Library
Southside Book Club meets every 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in the Southside Branch Library auditorium. The Southside Book Club is a traditional book club in the sense that we all read and discuss the same book each month, though we try to mix things up and read an assortment of the newest fiction, non-fiction, and biographies by a variety of authors. Our meetings are very laid-back and we usually provide something to snack on!

Short Story Society Meets every 1st Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm. Like your fiction short and sweet? Brief but intriguing? Succinct yet mysterious? The Short Story Society is dedicated to reading and discussing new and classic short stories. All readers are welcome to attend.

Cookbook Club meets every 1st Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm in the Southside Branch Auditorium. Do you want to show off your culinary expertise? Or pick up some new cooking tips and tricks? Or just sample a lot of delicious food? Then you ought to join the Cookbook Club at the Southside Branch Library. We share potluck meals, inspired by a different theme each month. Just swing by the Southside Branch in the weeks before the meeting and pick out a recipe from one of our pre-selected cookbooks. Fair warning: You MUST bring a dish to share in order to attend!


Walkertown Library
Tea Time Cozies Book Club You are invited to join the Walkertown Branch Library’s cozy mystery book club the fourth Wednesday at 4 p.m., the "Tea Time Cozies." Library staff and other mystery lovers will meet for a monthly discussion of a selected cozy mystery title and a nice cup of tea.

Cozies are a sub-genre of mysteries that feature an amateur detective who attempts to solve a community-based mystery. Add quirky characters, red herrings, an animal companion or two, maybe a food or library theme, and potentially a sleuthing cozy companion…and voila! A cozy mystery.
Well Read Book Club Join us as we read a mixture of older and newer fiction titles from all genres. Maybe you didn’t get a chance to discuss an older title the first time you read it. Let’s find out if the new books are worth all the hype. This is a great opportunity to talk about books in a relaxed atmosphere. We meet the second Thursday of each month, at 6 pm.
Page to Screen Book Club This club combines the joy of reading with the thrill of cinema, offering adult readers a fresh perspective on beloved stories. How it works:

Each month, we'll select a book that has been adapted into a film. Members will read the chosen book at their own pace. We'll gather for a film screening of the book's adaptation at the library. After the screening, we'll engage in a lively discussion comparing the book to the film.

Our book selections will span various genres and topics, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for all participants.
