Captain John Bracken Retires
Captain John Bracken was hired by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office as a Detention Officer in October 2000. Captain Bracken earned several promotions throughout his career with his last promotion to the rank of Captain on December 12, 2020. During his career, Captain Bracken earned the Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate and the General Instructor Certification. He served on S.W.A.T. and the Special Response Team. Captain Bracken served in the U.S. Marines for four years of active duty. Throughout the course of his career, Captain Bracken served in various capacities within the Law Enforcement Detention Center, Investigative Services Division, Judicial Services Division, Professional Standards Division, and Field Services Division. At the time of his retirement, he was the Captain of the Field Services Division. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office wishes Captain John Bracken all the best in his future endeavors.
