The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit recently learned of a young woman with special needs named Maggie who is obsessed with German Shepherds. Maggie, along with her aunt, was invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony for our newest K-9 member, “Suzie”. During the ceremony, several photos were taken of Maggie with each of the K-9 teams in attendance that day. Maggie had a wonderful time and as they were leaving, her aunt hugged the coordinator of their “meet and greet” and asked that she thank the entire K-9 Unit for “providing an experience that Maggie will never forget.” Maggie later brought homemade cupcakes to the Unit as a token of her appreciation. Our agency is very proud of the K-9 Unit – not just for all they can do while “on the job” but for also bringing joy and happiness to someone who simply loves dogs, like their new friend, Maggie.
