Tanglewood Arboretum Spring 2020 Adult Education Classes

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, and the Extension Master Gardener(SM) Volunteers are excited to kick off the 2020 year with lectures from the Adult Education series at the Tanglewood Park Arboretum. All classes are held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Please view the flyer for more information.

January 15: Pruning Trees and Shrubs
Leslie Peck - Extension Horticulture Agent, Forsyth County
Winter is the correct season for pruning many plants. Dress accordingly for outdoor demonstrations of how to prune trees and shrubs in your yard.

February 19: Plant Propagation from Seed
Bob LePere - Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener(SM) Volunteer
Growing plants from seeds is a rewarding experience. Attend this class for techniques and tips to help you succeed with seeds.
Location: Walnut Hall

March 4: Bird Friendly Gardening
Ron Morris - Special Correspondent for the Winston-Salem Journal
Enjoy birdwatching in your backyard. Learn how your garden can make a difference for these amazing creatures.

April 1: Flowers are Bee-loved
Nancy Adamson, Senior Pollinator Conservation Specialist, Xerces Society and USDA NRCS
Planting for pollinators benefits us and other wildlife. The class will highlight some of the 500+ native bees in NC and connections to native plants, wildlife, and watersheds. Weather permitting, join us after the presentation for a walk outside to look for flower visitors.

Admission into Tanglewood Park is free. Tell the gate attendant that you are attending a seminar.
