The Environmental Assistance and Protection Board consists of seven members who are appointed for three year terms by the Board of Commissioners. The composition of the Board should include individuals from a spectrum of vocations and professions including, but not limited to, business, engineering, economics, law, medicine, biology and life sciences, resource management, education or other specialties related to environmental management.

The Board meets at the call of its Chairman or by the Director of the Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection or at the written request of four (4) members of the Board. Public meetings are held in the Equalization and Review Board Room on the first floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem. These meetings are used to conduct public hearings, request expert testimony, receive and study ordinances, programs, and reports of the Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection, and to keep abreast of developments relating to environmental management within Forsyth County and North Carolina. The meetings are generally held from 10:00 a.m. until noon on the third Tuesday of the months of January, April, July and October of each year.
