Uzodinma Iweala, author of "Speak No Evil" to visit Winston-Salem in September
Uzodinma Iweala, the author of "Speak No Evil" will kick off On The Same Page with two appearances. On Thursday, Sept. 5, he'll speak at Winston-Salem State University on "Speaking Your Truth," the power, perils and potential for young African Americans in 21st century America. A Q & A and book signing will follow the talk.
On Friday, Sept. 6, Dr. Iweala will speak at noon in the Central Library auditorium on the writing of "Speak No Evil," a coming-of-age novel about two privileged teens from different backgrounds who share a secret that sets off a chain of events with devastating consequences.
Dr. Iweala is a writer, filmmaker and medical doctor. In addition to "Speak No Evil," he has written "Beasts of No Nation," a novel that was also adapted into a major motion picture and "Our Kind of People" a nonfiction account of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
