The caption for this featured Digital Forsyth photo is:

In 1978, the original North Carolina Baptist Hospital building, known as Old Main, had to be torn down because it was not fire-proof. The new building erected on the original hospital site was known as the “Focus Building” during its construction period. When the Focus Building was completed in 1981, it was dedicated as Watlington Hall in honor of Mr. John F. Watlington, Jr. Watlington joined the Bowman Gray School of Medicine Board of Visitors in 1963 and helped the school raise over $75 million. Watlington Hall, located on Hawthorne Road, is unique in architecture and highly noticeable because of its reflective black glass.
