Every child who participates can select a gift book to keep, while supplies last.

Children’s Book Council (CBC) and Every Child a Reader (ECAR) promotes Children’s Book Week, celebrating annually children’s books and the joy of reading. This national literacy initiative began in 1919. Events are held nationwide at schools, bookstores, homes and libraries - “wherever young readers and books connect!”

DIA - Diversity in Action!
The American Library Association (ALA) emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all cultural backgrounds. Dia de los Niños - Dia de los Libros is an annual nationwide observance by teachers and librarians to promote both childhood and literacy; promoting to children and parents alike that their child’s most valued friend is: el libro. In Mexico and some Latin American countries this day (April 30th) is traditionally celebrated as El Dia del Niño.
