Enter the Seventh Annual Baking Contest at the Walkertown Fall Festival!

Walkertown Branch Library in partnership with the Town of Walkertown and the Walkertown Area Historical Society is excited to announce the Seventh Annual Baking Contest at the Walkertown Fall Festival. The Fall Festival will be held at the Walnut Pavilion between Sullivantown Road and Harley Drive on Friday, October 13th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday, October 14th from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.

There will be both an adult and children’s baking contest in five categories: pound cake, layered cake, cookies, bread, and pies. For adults, there will be three winning entries in each of the five categories. The first prize is $30, the second prize is $20, and the third prize is $10. For children, there will be a total of three winning entries in the five categories combined. First prize for children is $15, second prize is $10, and third prize is $5.

Entries must be delivered to the Blue Roof House behind the Walkertown Post Office on Friday, October 13th between 10:00 AM and noon. Only the first twenty entries in each category will be accepted, so arrive early! Accepted entries will receive a confirmation phone call. Unaccepted entries must be picked up by 6:00 PM on Friday.

Judging will be done by members of the Walkertown Area Historical Society the same day between 1:00 and 3:00 PM. All winning entries will be displayed at the Fall Festival on Friday, October 13th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

Baking Contest applications may be picked up at Walkertown Branch Library.
