"Walkertown Railroad: From 1881 to Now" with Dr. Jeff Miller Tuesday, March 20, 6:30 pm

Come to the Walkertown Area Historical Society presentation on the history of the Walkertown Railway and listen to a free lecture presented by a Railroad Historian Dr. Jeff Miller, the President of the Winston-Salem chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and an author of a book "Winston-Salem Southbound Railway".

Mr. Miller has founded the Southbound Model Railroad club at South Fork Park Winston-Salem. His father took him to see trains starting at age 3. Following his United States Air Force service, Dr. Miller followed his father in the practice of optometry. Always looking for a train, he came through Walkertown every week on his way to his Walnut Cove office. Dr. Miller was in charge of steam excursions that came through Walkertown 1975-1994.Free public lecture. No reservation required. Call the library at 336-703-2990 for more information.
