Notice of Recount for the Village of Clemmons Council Election

The Forsyth County Board of Elections will conduct a machine recount of ballots for the Village of Clemmons Council on Friday, November 12, 2021. In accordance to 08 NCAC 09 .0106, the recount will begin at 10:00 am in the Cooper-Caldwell Board Meeting Room in the Forsyth County Government Center located at 201 N. Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem. The recount was requested by Clemmons Village Council candidate, Pamela (P.J.) Lofland, on Tuesday November 9, 2021 on the basis of § 163-182.7 (b).

Candidates, the media, observers, and the general public may attend the recount in person; In-person attendees will be required to wear a mask in accordance with the Forsyth County COVID-19 protocols. The use of video or still cameras by the public, while the recount is in progress, is not permitted because of the statutory prohibition on photographing or videotaping individual ballots. Media representatives will be permitted to take videos and still photographs before or after the recount if they do not record images of ballots.
