Air quality levels have risen into the upper Code GREEN range this afternoon as the Triad has finally transitioned to a drier pattern that is expected to persist through the weekend. An offshore low pressure system combined with n upper level ridge building eastward into the Carolinas will allow for a warm and relatively precipitation-free pattern to develop, allowing for ozone and particle pollution levels to trend upward. With that said, pollution AQI is expected to rise to the lower Code YELLOW range for Saturday and Sunday. A stray shower or two is possible as some upper level disturbances ride along the eastern periphery of the ridge, but conditions are expected to remain dry enough to sustain Code YELLOW AQI through the weekend and into early next week.
