Food, Lodging & Institutions
The goal of the Food, Lodging and Institution section of Environmental Health is
to protect the public health through a number of different programs. These include
the permitting, inspections and complaint investigation of Food, Lodging and Institution
facilities throughout the County, in addition to numerous Child Environmental Health
Services and new facility Plan Review.
- Food
Responsible for the sanitation of Restaurants, Food Stands, Meat Markets, Produce
Markets, Seafood Markets, Mobile Food Units, Pushcarts, Limited Food Stands and
Temporary Food Events.
- Lodging
Responsible for the sanitation of Hotels, Motels, Bed and Breakfast Homes and Bed
and Breakfast Inns.
- Institutions
Responsible for the sanitation of Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Adult Care Homes, Local
Confinements, Residential Cares, Adult Daycares and Tattoo Parlors.
- Tattoo Parlors
Responsible for the sanitation of tattoo parlors.
- Children's Environmental Health
Responsible for the sanitation of Daycares, School Buildings & Cafeterias and Lead Safety.
- Plan Review
The Plan Review program is a process by which all new facilities are reviewed prior
to construction.
